On a thrifting adventure, I found a horribly ugly doll prototype of the wonderful illustrations from Secrets of the Gnomes, the gnome encyclopedia by Wil Huygen and Rien Poortvliet. I loved this book when I was younger. So many facts, so many pictures, diagrams, details - it really is the most charming and complete gnome tome you’ll ever read.
But why does that doll exist?! It’s hideous to the extreme. (Still in the box, though. Maybe I should have bought it. It could be worth THOUSANDS, a collector’s item).
